Yes, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office does not accept anything without very detailed presentation and clear merit even on the most basic levels. Double Crown's Translock patent application was not only accepted in 2015 but was advanced to the Fast Track Patent Prosecution Highway Program in 2016. With a 90% approval rate for this Fast Track program there is no question that Double Crown would not have been approved if their claim for the final patent was not extremely strong and well presented.

On top of this, the PPH Program should give back its reply in a brief time frame if only 2 to 3 months. We are very close to owning the interlocking bulk container market now.

Patent Prosecution Highway

With the PPH, applicants receive a first office action on the merits within two to three months from the grant of request (compared to more than one year for regular examination). While the PPH does not explicitly promise to reach a final disposition faster than a regular application, it is common to receive a first action allowance. In addition, the overall allowance rate for the PPH is over 90 percent compared to 60 percent for regular applications, and applicants can take advantage of these benefits without paying any additional fees or restricting the number of claims.
