Two of the Directors in the (primarily applied research) organization that I work for are not PhD's either. One has a BS in Economics and a MBA. One other is has an MS in Botany and about 20 years of direct experience in the organization,....

It's actually kind of amusing that this is being touted as an unusual or as a negative 'thing',....
