Yes, that's part of the issue as well. We have too many Mods "looking" for a reason to delete a post. In order to support the Mods, if a post "technically" violates the rules, then we don't overturn them. There are too many "technical" reasons with the rules we have that a post can be deleted.

The goal is and has always been "civil discussion". A lot of what gets removed these days, imo, would be fine in a conversation especially in a heated discussion or disagreement.

I don't know how to draw the line that's something that can be enforced with any consistency other than possibly eliminating this all together.

I've lightened up, as well and could lighten up further. But not to be able to reign things in when it gets out of control would get to me really quickly.
