I think that is one way of looking at it. If there is IP theft, then I want to be around for the fines, license deal, and royalties. Once you know theft occurred, then resolution isn't far away. Any damages theft cause won't be a company killer for KBLB. The thieves could be hurt. The risk is real. They could get the death penalty. I however think the motivation for keeping the silk industry cleaned up is built in. es1 has some good points. Taking on the company that is buying stolen IP is where big money is. They know it and it is a deterrent. It is a risk, but frankly, I would love to see it and then follow the money.
