Yeah, but the problem with just growing food is, they are getting hit by every group who wants their food. So they didn't give it to Negan, but Rick took it instead. They aren't going to last with sticks.
As to killing the group at the satellite station. Could be Gregory is Negan's LT. and he wants to take over. They seemed to know Negan well. They seemed to know the grounds well. Rick and group became mercenaries and not any better than Negan. For the first time, they attacked a group without provocation. No better than what the Wolves did to them.
Also wonder why more groups don't use zombies as guard dogs. The group that had them all in the trucks and used music to round them up, were genius. Whatever happened to them?
Just seems like there are things not being thought of.
As to women, you'd also think you'd see plenty of women giving themselves in exchange for protection. Has happened for centuries.
