So true, you think Buffett knew KMI was not an oil company before he bought in to it? Maybe he even made a personal call to the CEO and discussed with him in detail first? Much like he made a call to the B of A CEO before investing there?

You might want to study KMI's 10-K. Oil is mentioned hundreds of times in the 350+ pages. Among other assets, KMI has many "oil producing interests."
