IMO the "average" prices they use in those discussionsare derived by giving the wholesale price of each model handset equal weight; that is, summing the asking prices for each model and dividing by the number of models offered. ... A couple of high-priced jobs that are purchased only by the rajahs will skew the average hugely. >>

Rightly or wrongly, that is EXACTLY the way I read that statement, and IMO, if they meant anything else, it is a very poorly worded statement, and that would be atypical of a CDG PR wordsmith, or a GSMA wordsmith if they had tackled the report and spun it to their advantage which I'm reasonably sure they could have given my take on John Jackson's Executive Summary (or his editors), as short as it was.
