#37496 RE: BobSinCA #37491

There's a little doughnut/coffee shop that opened a few months ago in Cocoa Village around the corner from my office that is packed every single day. I became friends with the owner who opened the franchise, it's called "Sugar Shack." The funny thing is that less than 1 mile away is a strip joint which shares the exact same name. Guess which one is thriving and which one looks like a dive. You can tell the strip joint is barely alive, but the doughnut shop has a line out the door everyday.

The entire strip-tease theme of Baristas is a loser. It will never, never, ever be mainstream and it's an anchor on this business. Maybe it's the fantasy of some middle-aged guys to have a bunch of young girls working for them, while playing a pretend game of flirt/tease/daddy but LET'S FACE THE FACTS: IT DOESN'T WORK (and I predicted it from the start). It eliminates a whole segment of the population. Most people just won't go to a joint like these.

BH, if you're reading this: NEVER go into business with an anchor around your neck. You need to shed the anchor if you want to be successful. That's why you still manage a one penny losing stock. Get rid of the striptease theme and go mainstream. You need to do it now before it's too late.
