~Interesting: "XP AUDIO, INC founded by John Johnson and Rick Bos in September 2007, with the firm goal of developing top-line, highly-innovative products and designing and manufacturing them in the U.S.A. to maintain the ultimate in quality, reliability and performance.

Doing clones of other manufacturers' products or manufacturing off-shore was something that John and Rick were definitely not going to do. John's background includes founder and former president of DOD, DigiTech and Harman Music Group (NYSE: $HAR ), as well as former president of dbx and Allen & Heath. Rick had served 19 years in senior management-level positions in marketing and product management/development for DOD/DigiTech, Peavey Electronics, Mackie Designs, and Gibson Guitar Corporation.

Their dream to start a company began in the latter part of 2003 with John and Rick discussing the company potential and meeting with other interested people. Rick even developed a successful high-end bass guitar amp prototype. But other commitments and schedules got in the way and by 2005 the project was shelved and Rick took a product/marketing position with Gibson while John continued his commitment to professional sailboat racing.

Forward to June of 2007, when Rick and John met again to discuss the possibility of forming a company, picking up where they had left off. The time was finally right, so at the end of July, Rick departed from Gibson and immediately moved to Salt Lake City where he and John began building the company and securing funding. XP AUDIO, INC. was born. XP AUDIO, INC. was envisioned to be the mother company, under which there would be divisions covering different product groups/brands.

The first was Motion Sound, a top-line 14-year old keyboard amp company of which John was already part owner. A buy out of the other Motion Sound owner, John Fisher, put XP AUDIO, INC., into reality. The bass guitar amp that Rick had developed as a prototype was also added as a separate division under the brand name, FORGE, with a combo amp model added to the mix and more to come. Funding was secured and marketing was kicked into high gear. By February 2008, sales had increased such that there was no more room at the original Motion Sound factory, so a lease was secured on a new 20,000+ sq ft manufacturing and office building, and move in began in March. New, highly experienced engineers were hired to help continue the expansion and growth, and new A-level reps and distributors were added to rapidly grow sales. World-renowned jazz organist, Joey DeFrancesco was signed as an endorser for Motion Sound, and other top artists are waiting for a chance to endorse FORGE. Future plans call for development of a guitar amp line, PA gear and more, all to be developed with the same driving devotion to the highest levels of innovation, quality, reliability and performance. The future looks very bright indeed for XP AUDIO, INC.
