OT: Thanks Ron, I know you do allot of DD on companies and your input has validation, your a straight shooter. Ron remember when I responded to you privately?. I haven't renewed my subscription yet.

There is a whole lot to that story huh?. Mikhail K. was supposedly made a offer by Putin if he would stay out of politics he could keep his wealth. The outcome could have been the same. Russia has no use for Israel but yet they want to strike a gas deal with Gazprom. Putin and Bush are playing 2 sides against the middle and every US President before has played this game but usually against Russia.

The US needs Russia as its allie, and Milhail K and the story of Yukos was Putins biggest mistake regarding investments in Russia. No doubt it lessens the excitement of investing there people.

The West will not forgive it because it was an ADR and any statement regarding it not falling into any jurisdiction other than the Russian courts is not valid. It creates allot of Skepticism and this will linger for a long time.

Russia will still do okay but Putin has hurt money inflow into the country. Americans want to see change, Milhails release at the very least and need to know how they will benefit from investing there.

Rosneft needs to give shares to investors who were in Yukos or at least settle someway to their satisfaction, but when you look at Global Crossing and it trading again under new ownership no prior investor ever got a dime out of that following its restructuring. The Ceo was no better than Skilling or Lay, Especially Skilling.

I don't know how or if it's possible for Rosneft to iron things out for Western investors. Russia is an enigma and always will be. I know Russia needs the oil industry for the countries benefit but state owned entities are never a good investment. Lukoil has to play ball but even this company is heavily impacted from its export taxes. It straddles the fence and shouldn't have to. The Russian political structure needs big change. It needs to free itself from authoritarian rule and create a strong government and elect a strong leader like a Lou Dobbs, huh?.
