Yes it is a normal chance of success for this type of well. If you go back and look at Africa Oil's old presentations you will see a similar chance of success for the well that turned into a major discovery. I don't know why it is considered negative by merely mentioning a number that ERHC themselves is using. What am I supposed to do? Inflate the number to 75% to try drive up the share price? Wouldn't that be dishonest?
These are the type and cost of exploration wells drilled by oil companies all the time. They know they are going to miss more than they hit. It is a cost of doing business and oil companies plan for it. So should we.
