Jimmy, that was dated Sept. 2003. Maybe Volvo is looking for something newer and better. Otherwise I don't know why they would be interested in HISC as HISC not long ago indicated they were talking with Volvo.

As I said then, I think it speaks well of HISS that they are in discussions with Volvo, considering the bus-tracking solution developed by Volvo in the past. Seems to me that Volvo must see some tremendous potential in the CT to be considering it instead of just upgrading the system they developed previously.

As Happy said, the article is 3 years old, but I have not found anything to indicate Volvo is not still using it. The other thing of note here though is that this device is from Volvo Group. Volvo Automotive Division was sold to Ford in 1999, so I don't know that they have access to the Volvo Group product.
