Boy I got some rotten news this week. My 2005 Ford lariat 4X4 started leaking a little oil. I accused them of not actually changing the oil last time and it getting so thin that it was leaking. They claim it is the rear main seal. Only 115,000 miles.
If it does turn out to be a RMS, my brother and I will pull the motor in the spring and fix it for $50 instead of giving them $800.
But I am still not convinced. I am going to put in some Lucas oil treatment and see if that helps the leak. I have heard some amazing things about that stuff. Ever used it?
