I work in TV and we got ravaged by bean counters and automation. Funny part is, we do double or triple the workload with less people but are making record profits. Don't count out the beans before that are cooked. IMO
What did you think would happen when this took off? Robots and machines are designed to take the human factor out of the process. It sucks for anyone to lose a job, but it is just the beginning. If this is big enough to make us rich, many will lose jobs. GE is at the front of this. It makes sense that they will be an indication of the future. I am an investor in GE as well. I expect them to be a kind and considerate corporation, but I also expect them to run the business in a manner that keeps them in business and grow the business. They can't do that by employing people they don't need.
