Not given up, just waiting impatiently.

As much as we would all like it to have happened last year (or the year before), it didn't. All we can do now is wait while CCH goes about the business of selling the card to the banks or whoever she is in talks with.

While we would all like to know where the company is up to with these talks there is no way that we can be told. If we are in negotiations with the Bank of XYZ then there is no way that they will talk about it and SMME would have to have signed confidentiality agreements prior to entering into talks with them so they won't either.

Even if we did put out a press release it would not matter to anyone as a PR from SMME is just another one to put into the bottom of the budgie cage. The PR that will matter will be the one from the Bank of XYZ that says that they are entering into a partnership with SMME to use our wonderful new card. That will be the PR that will make us.

As for a time frame, who knows. The Bank of XYZ will need to have the card be looked at by everyone from the board to the marketing people to the techies and then it will need to ensure that it works, it will work with their systems, that it is in fact secure and that it will be all of these things for the life of the card (three years over here). Once that is done then can come the dickering about contracts, costs, supply levels, exclusive use (if applicable) and only then can we talk about knocking out a few million cards in the banks livery. The Bank won't rush it as a failure of the card (delamination, card printing issues or worse yet failure of the card to work) on a big scale will embarrass the bank and more importantly to us may spell the end of SMME.

It may well be months to a year or more before it happens.

Sit on your hands for now and be patient as that is all you can do. Getting upset about the time frame won't do you any favours.
