blauboad, thanks for the reinforcement on the socket stuff! I love the interchange of ideas on these boards, but as major AMD releases get closer, two things happen:
1. Intel partisans start massive FUD, and play very loose with both Intel history and AMD potential;
2. AMD partisans start losing perspective and trumpeting every rumor as if it were confirmed fact.
Sometimes it gets frustrating fighting a two-front battle!

P.S.: On your followup post, I think the disadvantage to the mobo makers (and system builders) of having confusion in the market and extra product skews outweighs any short term advantage. The only compelling reason for a socket 940 Athlon64 motherboard woudl be if I am wrong about socket 754 being able to handle dual DDR.
