UAL blamed the miss on oil, if you can believe that. They said it's because less traffic out of Houston, their hub, which is heavily dependent on oil industry travel. I see your point though and it is a little odd.
Notice they did not buyback that much either. And LUV now says they will buyback more.
Could it be they are learning from AAL, not to make too rosie a picture in order to buy back cheaper?
