yes to question #1 - entered short near the $SPX Equally Weighted index underside kiss of the 200-day ema in final days of December, and exited swing short on Thursday and Friday of last week (half of position exited each day)and Thursday I exited the FB swing short posted real-time at Black Truck's Timing board near the all-time price high
no to question #2
take care! here is an FYI that merits high vigilance going forward:
McClellan Oscillators - positively divergent (higher lows) vs. the lower price lows last week
when reviewing folder # DPMI-1060 for the McClellan Oscillators at StockCharts.com, I notice that all the major US indices and most S&P 500 sectors now display a positively divergent pattern structure (higher lows) vs. the lower lows achieved by the daily price closes last week.
* This positive divergence exists for two or three days last week including Friday in most cases, while one index displays the divergence for only Friday. *
we are trained to focus on positive or negative divergences by the McO as a key divining clue for the future which is usually a reliable metric for risk/reward evaluation ... the question now is whether this current positive divergence will have a responsive and lasting price action outcome to the upside as we are trained to reliably expect
I notice on other daily charts that the Equally Weighted version of the indices' price charts display %B positive divergence vs. the lower price lows for the majority of the January 2016 period ...
which I view as a confirming data element for the McO divergence ... I find that positive divergences by the daily %B's are confirmed to have a lasting upside price reversal outcome once price action actually reverses back above the lower daily Bollinger Band, which is yet to take place for some of the indices --
the $SPXEW 15,2 %B and 21,2 %B now reside above the lower Bollinger Band location and did so for multiple days last week which is an important observation of positive divergence vs. the several lower daily closes by the price action last week
check in the coming days at the Link below for any charts and comments which update this topic, and please direct questions you have for me at one of the boards I moderate ... my time is valuable so understand that posting is not my priority:
Hope you are feeling better Glenn most of my family (grand children and all ) have been ill. I'd guess they aren't drinking enough beer. LOL. Kinda looks like the bear is just beginning.
