I am totally bummed by iChatAV, it was excruciatingly difficult to add names to, it keeps wanting to get names from my addressbook, doesn't know whether to use my .mac or AIM name and when i finally figured out how to navigate it, I found out that the audio and video features do not work with AIM. I was trying to connect with someone in Brazil and get them set up with AIM, trying to set up iChat and AIM in Portuguese has me at wit's end.
I have been using audio/video chat programs for nearly 4 years and this one is absolutely the most un-intuitive, clunky and wasted effort i have seen
I'll stick with ISPQ.
What good is audio/video chat with a community of about 200 .mac iChat users, I want to meet the world, not get incestuous.
Mind you, I know my way around many Mac programs, but this was among the most unpleasant 'new program' experiences I've ever had
They should not boast of AIM compatibility, all you can do with Instant Messenger users is send instant messgaes, this is a very weak chat app
With years of Mac chat experience Apple should have consulted the folks at iVisit, ISPQ, ICUII, Yahoo, CuSeeMe or anyone who has been building these apps for awhile... 150.00 web cam, my foot, My USB cam is running about 23-29 FPS with the little Application Enhancer I linked to earlier
