Such a big spender! If a trader had 3m+ shares in
a stock, why would they continue to bash it.

1.) A paid basher
2.) A short seller
3.) A paid basher or short seller.

If you own that many shares, bashing the stock would only make your investment lose money. so transparent. If you lost money on this stock and sold, you would not take the time to continue to bash it, and move on to something else to hopefully make money on.
