Sorry I can't agree with you there, Centrino is a top of the
line product currently and will become mainstream by the end
of the year. Ask any reseller what products gives them the
best margins any they will tell you top of the line. When
prescott becomes available OEMs will be very happy to get
as many as they can because they will go into those top of
the line systems with the sweet margins, I suspect Dell with
its close relationship with intel will do very well this Xmas
season selling prescott machines(hopefully they will be available.)

j3pflynn, contraire, the Centrino has enough extra pricing built in to give retailers an extra incentive to sell them. They are, and it is selling well in the consumer market - despite being overpriced. As I posted yesterday, Intel marketing is doing a very good job with this one. (Meanwhile, I am steering friends to Athlon laptops which cost about $400 less for equivalent performance.)
