Elmer, Re: Banias volume during Q1

Well, I assume you mean Q2, since Banias launched in March, and I don't think the volumes for that quarter are very representative. However, given the mix of current notebook lines, I would not be surprised if Banias accounts for 30% of Intel's notebook volumes already. By the end of the year, I'd expect it to cross over.

I'll guess no more than 20%, wbmw says 30%, for Intel's Q2 Centrino notebook volumes.
We're already in Q3, and here's some interesting numbers:
DELL has 7 models in their Inspiron series - the 600m is the only Centrino notebook. (It lists the 500m as having "optional Centrino technology, whatever that means.)
They have 10 models in their Latitude series, and 4 use Centrino.
Of 2 "workstation" series models, neither is Centrino. Given that the lower cost Inspiron series probably outsells the Latitudes by 2:1, I doubt more than 25% of DELL's current sales are Centrino based, certainly less than that at the beginning of Q2.

At Compaq, I counted
3 Centrino models -- n620c, nc4000, nx7000
2 Athlon models --

3 Celeron models -- 2161us, 2162us, 2170us, NX9010
2 Pentium 3M models -- n410c, n500c
6 P4 models -- 2500, 3050us, 3070us, 2555us, 2575us, 2561us, n1020v
5 P4m models -- n800v, n800c, n610c, n1000c, n800w

At HP we have from the home/home office link
ze4000 series featuring Athlon, Celeron and P4m processors
ze5000 series featuring P4 processors
From the small/medium/enterprise business link, all the links are to the Compaq line, already described as very light in Centirno models.

So, for Q2 sales, I'll stick with my 20% estimate for volume of Intel-based notebooks with Centrino CPUs.
