Many of the articles I've read in "penny pumper" publications have disclosure statements at the end of the article stating the company featured and the form of payment, whether it be cash, stock or a combination of both. Since I've not seen this statement at the end of Elites or a few others, I can only assume that companies without the disclosure statement did not pay for the article.
I could not care less whether a company pays or not. What really matters is:
