An excellent post... thanks... paradigm shifts are by their very nature difficult for many to see and understand...

My only comment/question to that post, is, "Do we have management that is capable of handling the chore, & what gives you that confidence?"

["This post is not up for debate."]

Huh?

Nobody (that I know off) is denying the importance of the cloud, certainly not me. What I would have liked to have seen is Sphere explaining this supposed strategy shift, which basically amounts to something like: forget about our legacy products, forget about the previous deals, we're all in on Azure.

["There is nothing posters on a message board can do to stop the train."]

This is the part I most agree with, even if where you seem to see just one train, I see a platform with trains leaving in rather different directions..

As an aside, this sort of self-reassuring, almost mantra-like post, foreclosing any discussion, well perhaps it works this time, but as a general investment approach I really think the percentages are very low. But then again, there are people who simply have problems dealing with uncertainty and risk and prefer pretending they don't exist. Good luck to that.

Yet when PB is asked if any reviewers will be highlighting GW on Azure he says maybe? Are you kidding me?? There was plenty of time to prepare for all of this.

I get it, nothing is missing here <smirk>. Again, the question is not how big the cloud will become or the words Microsoft or Azure, but the DEGREE of the relationship between Sphere and MS.

BTW, what happened to all of the regular posters from over the past 2 years? The relative silence is has been eerie considering what has supposed to have unfolded with the "release." What happened to SS?
