Redpine Signals and AverLogic Technologies Announce the Availability of Wireless Video Solution

Oct 28 15

Redpine Signals and AverLogic Technologies announced the availability of wireless video solution, targeting video IoT applications such as wireless AV senders/receiver, car cameras, video door bells, home security systems, baby monitors, medical imaging, conferencing equipment and video displays, among others. The solution incorporates Redpine Signals RS9113 wireless module and AverLogic AL582 video SoC. With Redpine Signals RS9113 2.4/5Ghz dual band wireless module delivers high definition video flawlessly. The AverLogic AL582 Video Streaming SoC supports a H.264/JPEG compression/decompression engine with advanced features for preserving optimal video quality during the network transmission. AverLogic AL582 has rich video interfaces such as RGB, BT.1120, YCbCr and BT.656 for easy CMOS Sensor, HDMI, VGA and CVBS video signals inputs and outputs. The AverLogic AL582 combined with the Redpine Signals RS9113 wireless module, which has an optimized, fully embedded networking and Wi-Fi stack, provides system developers a high performance wireless interface for their wireless video applications without the need to understand or implement Wi-Fi drivers, enabling OS-free IoT applications. The devices are available in volume.

Redpine Signals Launches WyzBee Comprehensive IoT Platform for Device Makers

Aug 19 15

Redpine Signals launched the first comprehensive IoT platform for device makers, the WyzBee platform that includes a flexible hardware platform, development environment and cloud software and services framework. The WyzBee IoT platform significantly reduces the time it takes to develop and bring to market new IoT devices by providing integrated sensing, computing, communicating, power management, cloud and application support. Redpine Signals is also accelerating IoT device development by providing a broad portfolio of Things profiles to developers like sensor, audio, GPS, GSM/GPRS and many more. The compact WyzBee board includes Redpine’s Wireless Secure MCU with multi-protocol wireless module providing Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and ZigBee connectivity, six-axis inertial sensors, an infrared receiver, a debug port, push-buttons, LEDs, USB ports, and WyzBee THING expansion connector. The WiSeMCU module runs an embedded TCP/IP networking stack with SSL/TLS/HTTPS security, apart from complete Wi-Fi, BT 4.1, and ZigBee stacks. The WyzBee THING expansion headers accommodate a host of other symbiotic devices, with a number of peripherals – called ‘Things’ already available from Redpine including audio, GSM, GPS, capacitive touch display, rechargeable battery, and additional sensors. Application development is supported with a choice of development environments – IAR, Keil, and the free CoIDE from CooCox. The WyzBee platform is supported by the WyzBee IoT Cloud, a Redpine hosted cloud framework that offers flexible and customizable connectivity, analytics, and user interfaces. The RS9113 chipset integrates PUF-based hardware security block that provides for unique, individual device entities ensuring that each IoT device can be individually authenticated and software delivered to it that cannot run on any other device. The WyzBee platform also includes WyzBee Workbench, a unique debug tool that addresses a common debug need that arises when engineers validate systems that communicate with the cloud. This tool is integrated into the development environment offered for WyzBee and provides a comprehensive debug analysis of data traffic between the device and the cloud. This Enhanced Debugger includes the capability of analyzing all transactions with the cloud, including secure SSL protected exchanges.

Redpine Signals Announces Multi-Protocol Wireless Connectivity Support in Mini PCIe Form Factor for IoT Devices

Jul 21 15

Redpine Signals announced the availability of a new range of wireless connectivity modules from its M2Mcombo family of products for IoT devices. The new PCIe mini card wireless expansion board based on Redpine’s convergence wireless chipset allows the offering of wireless connectivity options that include simultaneous 802.11n Wi-Fi Access Point and Client modes, dual-mode BT 4.0, and IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee, over USB. Operating in the 2.4 or the 5 GHz bands, the module permits the easy integration of wireless connectivity into IoT Gateway solutions. With industrial grade specifications for operational environment, performance and reliability, the module addresses the connectivity needs of IoT adoption in industrial deployments. The integration of multiple wireless protocols within a single device simplifies the implementation of coexistence measures when wireless connections are simultaneously operational. IoT gateways are often required to handle a variety of devices that connect using Wi-Fi, BT Classic, BT Low Energy, or ZigBee, and Redpine’s M2MCombo module family uniquely offers these protocols in a single device, reducing cost and integration complexity. Redpine’s highly integrated devices implement wireless protocol handling as well as fine-grained coexistence mechanisms in hardware and firmware form within the device, at the same time reducing load on the host processor. With technology that is matured over 14 years and deployed in diverse areas through over 1,000 customer products, Redpine’s solution is the ideal solution for IoT devices. Redpine’s Half Mini PCIe cards are available now with a price of sub-$20 for 10,000 units.
