Capt Billy,
"JUNE 8, 1551: Sevilla (DOCUMENT 1): That for five Masters of Naos that has arrived, they know that Sancho de Biedma how the naos from Nueva Espana arrived to la Habana, on april 3. That the new and good ship that D. Luis de Velasco went in,when it got to the Bahamas Channel, on the Turtles, he broke the ratchet and got separated."
This is a portion of the translation of the original archival research of the San Miguel.
Your debris field has been a known location for 30 years,so if claiming to discover the site even though it was common knowledge is indicative of your books work
It should make some very colorful reading.
You are about 30 miles away for the most probable location of the San Miguel.
But I do know the most likely candidate for your debris field (1557).
You won't find a ship there, as it was salvaged right down to the planks as it was washed up on the beach.
Btw/ my research is not expensive, but it is not free.
Look forward to your book
what is the publishing house that is handling it?
