First I should think that Health Canada would have to recognize MJ as a medicine. I feel that they have not recognized it as medicinal because cash strapped provinces and private insurance companies don't want to be forced to cover it. That lack of endorsement may be a reason why many physicians may be reluctant to prescribe med mj. There is still a stigma that medical 'marihuana' is a legal loophole for those who just want to get high.
