I live in suburbs but working in Chicago. Taxes in suburbs are killing 7k for a small house, Illinois is in top most taxed states in usa. Property tax, business taxes, sales taxes are huge here. In Chicago there is few good areas to live but so expensive for middle class. Biggest problem here is crime. Funny how people in Chicago are protesting over killings in other states but they are quiet what is going on in our community. Reason why I stop looking for house is property tax, I'm not an idiot to pay 7 or 8 thousands a year for tax.
Currently Im researching where to move out of state, looking for medium size city, something quiet with nice landscape good jobs and low taxes.
