The NRA would have you believe that the government is trying to take away your 2nd Amendment rights. Keep drinking the kool aid because that makes the NRA very happy.
If you (or anyone else) is a responsible gun owner you have nothing to worry about.
All I am saying is that there has to be some checks and balances out there to prevent guns from getting into the hands of people who should not have guns.
The person who leaves their gun around so that their two year old can pick it up should not have a gun.
The person who is on the no fly list should not have a gun.
The person who has a mental illness should not have a gun.
The person who has no idea how to use a gun should not have a gun.
In order to get a driver's license in this country you need to pass an exam.
In order to get a license to sell insurance in this country you need to pass an exam.
What is wrong with asking people who want to get a gun to take a course on gun safety and have a background check before they are able to get a gun?
There is no way that we can keep guns out of the hands of all of the people that shouldn't have them but if there is one less school shooting or one less child shooting another child it's worth it.
