Why would you say that:

...you must have some inside knowledge of the terms from the grants and these company's investors.

I have no special knowledge of these investors nor do I see any need to have such!
I have the common public documented knowledge of what these companies have stated in the past and what actually transpired and what was then stated at a later date.
I know that Spiber had a blue dress 3 years before they had any production whatsoever or any production facility.
I know that they made a definitive statement in 2012 that their factory would be producing X amount in 2013, and in 2013 it was 2014 and in 2014 it was 2015, and in 2015 it was x amount once the factory was actually up to full capacity (no date given).
I know that both spiber and refactored / Bolt have said that they are producing or will produce "Spider Silk" from their bacteria and yeast but they have never given any numbers for tensile strength and/or elasticity comparing their product, whatever it is, to any form of spider silk, nor have they let any public 3rd party measure their product.
I know that bolt supposedly showed potential VC investors samples of their supposed product but that those samples were "Lost" before they could be measured or examined by anyone with any more scientific or textile acumen than the financiers and new samples seem to be unavailable.
I know many things said by these companies that were deliberately vague and misleading and often contradictory or later contradicted.

I think that I know enough!
