Buying AAPL

If the trend continues past option expiration, I'll be buying 500 at $57.50; sold puts before sailing this spring. At one time my main concern was covering the 70 calls I sold naked. Funny how things work out.

I do have a MacBook Pro 17 now (what an awkward name!). What a horrible buying experience through Club Mac! Ordered it over a cell phone while at anchor in the Columbia River. 'Here is exactly what I want. No, I don't want a $85 free printer. Yes, that is my address. For this order, it is a billing address only. Do not ship it to my home! There is no one there to receive it. Do you understand? Ship it to the company address in Seattle. Recite, the shipping address back to me. Install XP Pro in a 30 gig partition. Do you understand? Repeat everything back to me. Yes, I will wait for your supervisor to phone me back with final confirmation.' The call back had all the information right.

Of course, the Macbook Pro showed up at my home and sat on the porch for two days while my house was being painted. Sent my 85 year old mother over to retrieve it. No, I didn't claim it was stolen to teach them a lesson. They did have UPS banging on neighbors' doors for about a week after looking for it. Luckily, I had a friend passing through town who brought it 70 miles to Seattle so I could have it before heading to sea again.

Oh, Club Mac partitioned 5 gig for XP instead of 30. Damn them! Who runs an operating systems plus programs on 5 gigs? When I get home, I'll have to erase and re-partition. Oh well.

Next, time I'll have to rethink whether it is worth the $300 in sales tax savings to be put through the meat grinder. Everyone, on board got a kick out of me interfacing with Club Mac over a cell phone. I won't mention the nautical language or the second unit they were holding for shipment to the Seattle address.

I have the best Windows machine on board the ship. Haven't heard too many apple sauce comments lately.
