I only spent 25 years in the business---The company generally knows first about its news and then the other agencies find out from them---whether good or bad if the company thinks the news will effect an imbalance in trading --then they are protected from lawsuits...by notification to the proper agencies---

When a trading halt comes as a surprise to the company--it ain't b/c of good news...
