You may want to check with the IRS with their definition of unpaid employees. Either you are a paid employee or independent contractor, but no unpaid employees...I believe that unpaid employees ended with the end of the civil war.

And the fact remains that the flight attendants are no longer on the payroll...they are now free agents.
