#35731 RE: Hugodrax #35730

What about in the event of a CUSIP # change before restriction comes off?

Forced buyback or still net zeroed? Broker magic?

I just don't see how the short position can be held in the event of a lending recall - say like Shkreli in KB!O when he decided to stop lending out his shares on Thanksgiving of all days. Shorts can't just give an IOU, give someone their commons back as restricted, or just avoid the order altogether?

You stay short the "normal shares" and are long the restricted shares.

So you are economically zeroed out (except for borrow costs, if any). Once the restriction is off you can net them.

The custodian or prime broker will show as two separate positions.
