article states that AMD will be shipping product using 10nm an d7 nm before Intel. AMD which is so close to going under will do that.
I hate to think how much even producing a mask set for 10nm would cost and anyway Apple would probably buy practically all the initial production. I can't see AMD having the resources now to do anything like that.
Yes, I agree that it's a little ridiculous to think that AMD will be pumping out server chips a node ahead of Intel. Even if they reach "named node parity," Intel should still have a healthy lead.
What's even more misleading about the article though is that TSMC did not say that it plans to grow revenue by 20% next year; they said "double digits" according to other reports:
