"No agreement with Vietnam yet, but is very close."

yea..of course it is...didnt expect him to say anything else..

"Someone is there currently shepherding the agreement. "

if kim needs someone there full time, then it is more than a few signatures needed..

"They have signed a lease on an office in Ho Chi Minh City"

i know its been a long time since the war but kblb doing business in vietnam and opening an office in ho chi minh city still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth...

"Kraig Labs has been having issues with their silk quality and quality control"

funny...everytime i brought it up i noted that kim stated he was working on a protocol that he "believed" would solve that issue...then he never spoke of it again...which led me to believe it may have not been completely resolved...although everyone insisted it was no longer an issue...it appears that listening CLOSELY to what kim says EXACTLY and what he AVOIDS addressing is key...

"Vietnam should solve this with their current infrastructure."

sounds like an awfully big maybe to me..

"They have partnered with a clothing manufacturer and produced the first test textiles in November."

this can be a positive...how much depends on who it is...

"but he is not opposed to using other methods in the future."

kim is not opposed to "goo"...that should tell everything something about that "goo"..

"The lab space at Notre Dame has become more efficient which caused under-utilization of their second lab, so they discontinued the lease agreement."

yea...more efficiency at notre dame lab...im sure that was the reason..

"They are using a new genetic engineering protocol which allows for advanced editing of silkworm DNA."

as in not using zincfingers?

"The reason that they stop scaling up to the metric ton milestone is due to the fact that the quality control at their pilot production facility's local infrastructure is lacking."

they cant fix the problem...im wondering if they even know what it is...are they just hoping the vietnamese can figure it out?...

"The reason that the agreement to start up the facility in Vietnam has yet to be approved is due to bureaucracy."

well thats certainly a catch all excuse..

"a major issue for the company has been lack of quality production. The CEO feels that this issue needs to be corrected before he will move forward with commercial production and sales."

yea..ya think?
