Re: Besides, we all know that estimating earnings is never an exact science. Even if Intel beats estimates by a penny or two, the stock will take a beating because Intel won't be perceived as a "growth" company anymore.
Based on the current value of the stock, it seems that Intel has not only lost their "growth" status, but they are also being perceived as a company about to lose their volumes to a competitor, while losing their margins to a price war.
I think as Conroe ramps, people will see that the latter two threats are not that intimidating. As far as "growth" goes, however, I wonder if Intel will ever be able to beat that stigma. After all, Intel grew pretty well the last few years, but the stock was never rewarded for it.
