Although the 6T drive price is nice if you need that much space I think that the market served by consumer drives of that size is pretty small.

In our house 250-500G SSDs are fine for both boot and data storage and I think we are out on the 2 sigma point, meaning 250G is probably plenty for most. My daughter has 4T drives for her photo storage as she is an artist and uses them for references. She never deletes photos and now has a Nikon 810E which produces gigantic raw files.

By the time her 4T drives get crowded I expect we will be moving to SSD for even those for performance reasons even if it costs a bit more.

For cloud or enterprise I don't think 6T is a typical density due to reliability concerns. I think SSDs will take over a lot of that space due to speed, space and energy concerns. 3DXpoint will be interesting to watch as it affects that space.
