I agree that Apple will have a problem pushing the G5 until they have a 64-bit OS available (due early 2004). But once the FUD starts flying, Microsoft and Intel may find they have their hands full. We'll see whether this becomes advantageous for AMD.
My point remains: once Linux and Apple have 64-bit systems available for the mass desktop market, Microsoft will be under the gun to establish parity and to publicize it.
