#2705 RE: pdb2 #2702

That's more than a couple of questions.

I will answer them as best I can, when I can. Some of the answers are probably here somewhere.

"Will EBM be involved in printing LEAP blades?"
To my knowledge, CFM has not said that they will or will not use them. I like to think that they will but it's not up to me. If and when CFM says they will be used, I'll be pretty happy. There are people much closer to the production process that say yes but if that's so, why hasn't CFM announced it?

Take a look at the current CFM LEAP brochure.

I would expect to find mention of electron beam melting on the Innovative Technologies page.

GE is in charge of the core, comprising the high-pressure compressor and turbine and the combustor. Snecma designs and builds the low-pressure section, including the fan, the low-pressure compressor and turbine, and the accessory gearbox.

Avio Aero is a GE aviation business. It seems odd that they are not on the CFM Production at GE and Safran Facilities page.

When CFM says that EBM will be involved in printing LEAP blades, we will know. Until then, I have reservations.
