My, your post covered lots of ground. SWKS is a fine stock but I wouldn't build a college savings account around it. It's about my smallest holding and definitely my most speculative. I have it as a spinoff from Rockwell Automation long ago.
My father didn't have a "trading account"... mostly he owned muni bonds... lots of them. And no debts. GL
