Would it not be far easier to scan through a liquid than to excite it and check returns?? Are'nt interference bands easier to 'see' and measure?? Am I fulla it??

Another advantage would be that the UV source could be left on..no warm up time.

You are the expert..I am asking. No insult, either way it goes. It has been awhile since I did much techie stuff..except put computers together. You do it most every day.

Crow, I thought that your theory was about NIR since you're talking about "bouncing off"?

How do you bounce off fluorescence?

Pulsing can increase intensity, but I think the penetration has more to do with frequency than intensity.
