I wonder how many airlines might be interested in our low cost, portable IFE solution. Hope to hear more about this in the coming weeks.

Cheers.

Nice article 9,

I hadn't really thought about it from that point of view. Could be a selling point for our systems (I assume there won't be any need for electronic storage systems on the actual aircraft, since content will be preloaded on the player). That will save a lot of unnecessary wiring, since in most flights I've seen a good deal of the passengers don't use the inflight system on their seatback anyway. This is certainly a more targeted approach.

I agree with the end of the article, airlines can offer whatever perks or frills they want, but most of all I just want them to get me from A to B in one piece.

9miles, you might want to forward this article to RP or someone else at EDIG, it might make an additional selling point when they make their pitch to the airlines.

So we can add fuel savings to the list of benefits Skyview would provide to airlines...great...

More pounds, more wires

An entertainment system adds thousands of pounds to a jet. It consists of more than 2,000 parts and, on a fully equipped wide-body jet, uses about 41/2 miles of wire, says Greg Steiner, a vice president at entertainment system manufacturer Rockwell Collins.
