I've read everything there is to read and I know exactly what u speak but it is completely different now in the age of Bitcoin and other digital currencies. You can't apply something that happened when we were riding around on horses to a world that's black and white different to now.
The level of manipulation in the world markets is also something that's very different than before, which is why I think "fiat" currencies won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
I remember a few years back when gold was around $1900/oz and people were screaming currency collapse and return to the gold standard and headlines were reading gold to hit $4,000/oz but clearly that's didn't manifest. Just like it won't happen for a decade + IMHO.
