I agree. Although I see $552,000 as Dennis' annual revenue, it is not even pertinent to his ORT board position. I would not be doing a back flip if it was 10 million. Has no bearing.

500K in premium dollars isn't in any way impressive but 500K in commissions earned for a 1 to 4 person operation probably makes for a decent living in South Carolina

"Revenue" defined

DEFINITION of 'Revenue'

The amount of money that a company actually receives during a specific period, including discounts and deductions for returned merchandise. It is the "top line" or "gross income" figure from which costs are subtracted to determine net income.

IF $1 more than $500k flowed through his agency he would have checked the $500k-$1 million" box (and since most people tend to "round up" their worth I suspect his revenues were comfortably below the $500k threshold).

For example, Dennis could have $300k in annual premiums coming in minus costs (rent, utilities, employees, office expenses etc) and realize a "net profit" of $100k (of which he'd have to pay income tax). Obviously no one knows exactly.

So far he sounds like your typical independent insurance agent.. one office and an employee or two. An honorable profession to be sure. Just hardly the "titan of business and finance" some would have people believe.
