They're using GoDaddy to register the domain but a different service to host, so you're probably right about the 404.

I host on Godaddy and they have a very specific 404 default, so I half expected that since they registered with GoDaddy.

Who knows.
I think a Company's past is the best indicator for its future.
They've rebranded several times, so that's probably it.

Still...,a bk is not off the table with these scammers.
