Who needs Adobe Premiere

when you have iMovie, or Final Cut Express, or even Final Cut Pro?

Did you ever use Premiere? I did. Once iMovie came out, I never used Premiere again. Apple's Final Cut Express is a much better program that Premiere ever was.

I would probably guess that hardly anyone bought Adobe Premiere, except for people that were upgrading it, after Apple came out with its programs.

I can't blame Adobe. If they don't make money on the product, why bother.

After Effects, on the other hand, will still be available for the mac, since it offers a lot of features that Mac users can take advantage of.

Apple writes better software for the mac than Adobe does. However, when Apple starts doing their own stuff, the developers lose and drop the products.

It's all a money thing. There has to be a profit.

JimisJim dumps ADBE

I bought a long position in ADBE in '97. Since then, I sold most of that initial position, but held onto a few hundred shares because I liked ADBE and felt that they were a solid play in software. Psychologically, I also held onto a bit of ADBE because I use a lot of their products to earn my living.

But no more.

I sold the rest of my ADBE today putting the proceeds into more SYK and UPS.

I already have too much cash, but now that I've pared down my taxable account to just 4 positions and that cash, I think I'll take the summer off from buying or selling any more stocks.
