conix -- that article and the other reports I've reviewed (perhaps quite predictably) do not specify which group was or groups were behind the "numerous incidents of children being excluded from activities due to religion, cultural beliefs, etc." -- but I'd bet a fair bit of change that folks on the liberal side had precious little if anything to do with it, and that the one group that had (almost certainly by far) the most to do with it was our Christian right -- e.g. (from among the many such which are out there):

Halloween parades, like this one in Deep River from 2012, are back on in Milford elementary schools. The events had been canceled before feedback from parents led to them being reinstated.
