The reason District Court Judges always (almost 100% of the time) adopt their magistrate court judges opinions is they picked them to be their "assistant" judges based on their knowledge expertise and ideology. Federal District Court Judge Chhabria is an Obama appointee. Democrats are strong supporters of eroding individual investors rights in the name of the collective and they are certainly 100% against patent trolls like PTSC. Democrats are certainly in bed with the huge tech companies that want to pay what they feel like for intellectual property and make it cost prohibitive for small companies or individual inventors to enforce their IP rights.
There is no way on earth a progressive Democrat appointed judge like Chhabria is going to side with a patent troll. He was vetted by Obama's people to make sure he had a certain stance on patent law as well as other positions of course. Given the opportunity to quickly dispose of a patent troll and reduce case load I expect him to rubber stamp judge Grewal's markman ruling. Judge Grewal's markman ruling was certainly very well reasoned and should be easily adopted without question. Also, just try to find even one example of a district court judge not going along with a magistrate court judges opinion. You would be lucky to find 1!
