If the product is very effective (better than what others have) they can help themselves by finding a BP partner that gets as much out of it as they drive in delivering marketing and selling benefits. The backing of a BP, at every level of benefit a large organization can provide, is key to thriving.
It's a crowded field now and everyone's got a favorite molecule or two.
Differentiation will be key for Bavi. If it works well and makes a difference, Peregrine can still get to become a $5B to $10B company. If it's a platform/cornerstone with a leap of benefits over next wave of therapies - they'll have something big to bargain with.
